KUALA TERENGGANU: The state is all set to paint the town red for ‘Visit Beautiful Terengganu Year 2017’, with Chinese New Year decorations installed and promotions aplenty. Shops, eateries, hotels and shopping malls have been adorned with red Chinese decorations and lanterns, most conspicuously at the commercial houses in Jalan Kampung Cina in Chinatown. The state-owned Primula Beach Hotel played its part to usher in the auspicious festival with its special buffet spread and festive activities, including hosting a lion dance at its premises on Jan 28. Hotel public relations executive Tengku Irma Yuzita Tengku Othman said patrons could savour the specially-prepared ‘Love is in the Air’ dinner, prosperity buffet, CNY set dinner or high-tea, or braised chicken herbs soup with lotus bun. Also available are local delicacies like bronok sagu, mas sejemput, koleh lemak and ‘Beautiful Terengganu’ high-tea set. Hotel service staff Mohd Fauzi Hussin, donned in traditional sam fu, and fellow employees went around handing out mandarin oranges to guests to usher in Chinese New Year. Just two weeks ago, Primula employees donned festive costumes to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
